Sparrow 1.0.1 is available

ChangeLog:

  • Improved sending speed
  • Improved thread/conversation refresh
  • Basic Apple script support
  • ‘Menur bar only’ mode
  • Various bug fixes

Be aware that implementing the ‘Menu bar only’ mode breaks the usual bouncing behavior of the dock icon. We know no AppStore compliant workaround for the dock icon to behave properly when the ‘Menu bar only’ is implemented.

Sparrow Lite (the free trial version) has been submitted to Apple for some time now but hasn’t been validated yet. The application is still ‘waiting for review’. We got in touch with Apple but had no feedback from them so far.

We’re working hard on Sparrow 1.1 (general IMAP support) and we hope you can get your hands on it fast.

Thanks for your support.

Sparrow 1.0 is now available on the Mac AppStore at $9.99.

Sparrow 1.1 and IMAP support

It’s been a while since we gave you news about Sparrow here. We’ve been busy. It’s time to catch up.
Sparrow 1.0 is almost ready and will come with a few surprises. We have recently started a Private Beta. The last bugs are being fixed right now thanks to the precious help of a dedicated team of beta testers. The app should be submitted to the Mac AppStore at the end of the week.
We couldn’t help but share the new Sparrow icon with you. If you like it, don’t hesitate to drop a note or ‘like’ it on Dribbble.
2 versions of Sparrow will be released. They’ll both be available in the Mac AppStore and on our website:
Paid: Sparrow will cost $24,99 but early birds will benefit from the $19,99 introductory price.
Free: Sparrow Lite will be ad-supported. Carbon Ads is providing the nice ads you have certainly seen in the latest Beta version. The free version will allow one-account creation only.
We can’t provide any precise release date yet as the application has to be approved by Apple. We’ll keep you updated on our progress as soon as we have news.
If you have time to answer a few questions, we’d like to know a bit more about you.
Thanks a lot for your support.
