- Alt-L Polish character issue
- Fixed Esc key behavior in fullscreen

Sparrow 1.3.1 has been approved by Apple at the speed of light and should be available to all of you now on the Mac App Store.
We would like to thank Apple for their support and reactivity in yesterday’s special circumstances.
If you had the licensed version of Sparrow, you are either already playing around with Sparrow 1.3.1 or should be able to update.

If you had the Mac App Store version, checking the update section should allow you to get Sparrow 1.3.1. This new version of Sparrow comes with some improvements and fixes the following issues:
Crash issue of 1.3
Formatting issue of 1.3
Cmd-L and Shift-Cmd-L bug in Unified Inbox for Google accounts
Lost text when replying too fast
Reply animation: the reply window now matches the location and size of the reading window
Default window size is now kept when quitting and relaunching the application
Various bugs on window resizing (extended sidebar, hiding sidebar…)
Lotus Domino compatibility
Bug in sidebar Label menu
And it adds 2 new Lion feature:
Full screen mode
Launch animation

Sparrow 1.3 has been submited to the Mac App Store. Our little bird is now fully compatible with Lion OS X and takes advantage of the cool new things Apple brought to the Mac. Here is a quick tour of the new features and improvements you should be able to play with in a few days:

Quickly access your labels and folders:

The extended sidebar has been a major feature request since Sparrow was first introduced 5 months ago. Simply dragging the sidebar to the left now gives you access to the new layout. Everything is just a click away.

Send & Archive:

One of the coolest Gmail feature is now available for all your IMAP accounts. Just turn it on in Advanced Preferences and you’re all set for a Send & Archive madness.

Drag and Drop:

Simply drag and drop mails to your desktop and other applications. If you work with Things, Omnifocus or any other task management app, Sparrow will also give you an URL for each mail to make it easily findable.

We still have some work to do to allow you to drag and drop messages directly in labels and folders. It is already planned and will be in 1.3.1 or 1.3.2 coming shortly.

More minimalism:

We added a lot of features and options since Sparrow 1.0 but we want you to be able to keep it simple. Hiding the sidebar offers a streamlined experience. Pressing Shift-Cmd-M will do the trick.

And the cherry on the cake: a ‘View source’ option is now available in the drop down menu of the conversation view .

But that’s not over yet.

We’ve also dedicated a lot of our time on usablility and performance improvements:

We re-worked the sidebar animations from the ground up. Account and category switching is faster and smoother.

We made the message list scrolling more responsive and fluid.

We hope that you’ll feel animations are more natural than in previous versions.

We also killed (yes, we killed them) all window animations. There hasn’t been too many complaints from you about it but once we’ve shut them off for testing purposes and noticed Sparrow felt quicker, we never turned them back on.

We added a visible scrollbar to the sidebar. Even if it has always been possible to scroll the sidebar, your feedback suggested that was not sufficiently clear.

An ‘Empty trash’ button has been added too.

The Priority Inbox filter settings have been changed in Sparrow 1.3 to display all Inbox Priority mails regardless of their read/unread status.

We also improved compatibility with Yahoo, DAV mail, and Mbox and of course, we did everything we could to resolve as many of the bugs you reported.

We hope you’ll enjoy this new release. Check for update if you have the licensed version or go to the update section on the Mac App Store to get your Sparrow 1.3.1.

Sparrow is now linked to Facebook and displays your friends’ avatars in the message list. Address Book contact images and Gravatar are also supported.
We’ve done some major work on the user interface. We hope you’ll like it.

Unified Inbox
It’s here! Unified inbox is now supported by Sparrow and you’ll be able to view all your incoming mails from all your accounts in a unique message list.
Rich Text Signature
You can now add any images and links you want to your signature.
Translation
Sparrow is now fluent in 9 languages simplified Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Dutch, German, French, and of course, English.

Delete/Archive toggle
Requested by many of you since Sparrow 1.0 and even the Beta version, you can now toggle the keys to archive/delete mails in Sparrow Advanced Preferences.
Selection bar
You now have the option to show/hide the selection bar in the Inbox.
Download folder
You can now specify where you want to save your files in the Preferences and right-click any attachments to choose where you want it to be saved.

Bounce is back!
We finally found a workaround for this one. Sparrow’s dock icon now behaves as any other icon in your dock and will bounce when it is supposed to.

Coming up in 1.3:
Sparrow 1.3 will be focused on label management. It will aslo include a secret feature that will dramatically improve your workflow.
Even better, we’ll be pushing update faster from now on to be sure you benefit from all the improvements we make to Sparrow straight away.

Sparrow 1.1.2 is still in review at Apple.
We submitted the update on April the 4th. Since, Sparrow 1.1.2 has been rejected twice. On the 15th of April, we requested an appeal on iTunes Connect and are now waiting for Apple’s answer.
The application was rejected because Apple reviewers couldn’t add the test accounts we provided. After testing on our side, we were not able to reproduce the issue and came to the conclusion that Sparrow was being tested offline or behind a firewall (which could explain why Sparrow was unable to connect to any mail account).
We kindly asked several times for log protocol to pinpoint the exact reason and make a consistent answer to the review team but had no luck. We had no other choice than to ask for an Appeal.
Sparrow 1.1.2 fixes the following issues:
Duplication in Sent mailbox on Exchange servers
Selection in folder mapping
Crash on sync
Keychain conflict
“New message” option has been added to right-click on Dock icon
We’ve been working hard on Sparrow 1.2 for some weeks now. Most of what we’re doing has to be kept secret but the Universal Inbox will be there along with lots of improvements and cool new features.
Thanks for your patience and feedback.
